Première Urgence Internationale and WAFAA International Group joined their efforts to support the Limb Reconstruction Center in the Gaza Strip

The Limb Reconstruction Centre is a vital part of WHOs’ trauma and emergency care programme, which is working with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and partners, on an extensive series of interventions to improve the management of trauma injuries at the prehospital level all the way to hospital care, including emergency departments and surgery, to rehabilitation and recovery.

Première Urgence Internationale, with funding from WAFAA, provided essential medical devices and disposables to the Center according to priorities identified by the Ministry of Health. The support allowed enhancing the capacity of the center to perform surgical operations for the patients who suffer from complex fractures due to the enforcement of the Access Restriction Areas by the Israeli authorities.

The support also contributes to improving the quality of services provided to the patients from all over the Gaza Strip as it included a number of technical medical instruments used for the complex fractures surgeries which are exclusively performed in this center.

This activity is part of a comprehensive intervention implemented by Première Urgence Internationale to support the patients of the Center through the provision of balanced high-protein meals, cash assistance for basic needs, awareness sessions on the rights of People with Disability, psychosocial support and case referral.
