Qatar Charity and Première Urgence Internationale Launch Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Humanitarian Cooperation and Sustainable Development

The partnership was announced during a ceremony held in Doha, attended by Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and Mr. Philippe Jouannet, Vice-President of PUI’s Board of Directors, along with senior representatives and partners of both organizations.

The partnership builds on a period of institutional engagement and coordination between the two organizations and reflects their shared vision for long-term collaboration that brings together their complementary expertise, capabilities and networks. It provides a platform to translate this relationship into practical cooperation across humanitarian and development priorities.

Memorandum of Understanding

The event featured a signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Charity and Première Urgence Internationale, led by Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, and Mr. Philippe Jouannet, Vice-President of PUI’s Board of Directors.

The agreement establishes an institutional framework for long-term cooperation between the two organizations in humanitarian and development action, covering programme design and implementation, resource mobilization, capacity building, institutional learning, operational coordination, and joint advocacy on humanitarian priorities of mutual interest.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Yousuf bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari, CEO of Qatar Charity, said that the partnership reflects Qatar Charity’s commitment to building strong, long-term relationships with leading humanitarian organizations that share its values and ambition for greater impact. He added that these partnerships strengthen Qatar Charity’s role as an international humanitarian actor and support its continued efforts to reach vulnerable communities with more effective and sustainable assistance.

The ceremony also featured opening remarks by Mr. Nawaf Abdulla Al-Hammadi, Deputy CEO for Programs and Communication at Qatar Charity, Mr. Philippe Jouannet, Vice-President of Première Urgence Internationale’s Board of Directors, as well as Mr. Olivier Routeau, Director of Operations.

Mr. Al-Hammadi said: “Humanitarian partnerships have real value when they turn shared commitments into meaningful action for the people and communities we serve. This MoU provides Qatar Charity and Première Urgence Internationale with a strong foundation to bring together our respective experience and capabilities and build practical, sustainable cooperation.”

He added: “The signing is an important milestone, but the true measure of this partnership will be what follows — the quality of our cooperation, the trust we build, and the difference we are able to make together in people’s lives.”

For his part, Mr. Jouannet said the partnership reflects an effective model of cooperation among humanitarian organizations, noting that increasingly complex global crises require strong partnerships that bring together expertise, resources and complementary capabilities.

He noted that the MoU provides a platform for identifying and developing programmes and initiatives based on shared priorities and the needs of affected communities.

Mr. Jouannet added that Première Urgence Internationale is proud to build a long-term relationship with Qatar Charity that creates added value for both organizations and supports more effective humanitarian action.

The partnership brings together Qatar Charity’s international presence, operational experience and resource mobilization capacity with Première Urgence Internationale’s technical expertise, field experience and specialized humanitarian capabilities. Through this complementarity, both organizations aim to develop humanitarian and development initiatives with greater and more sustainable impact, while strengthening their contribution to humanitarian action worldwide.
